All the leaves are gone and the nest in the tree across the street from my house is once again visible. I hope one day to see one of these in real life.

mushroom season

I've fallen in love with mushrooms this fall. They are everywhere in the forests, meadows and yards of Seattle where I walk my dog. I've been making up my own names for them. Maybe next year I'll learn to identify them for real.

procrastination or getting into the swing of things

Virginia and I are working on some Halloween costume designs. Superpuppy for Ginger and Toothless (the book version) for her. I got help with ears, wings and horns from a blog called Sugar Tart. I've been puzzling out whether to draw the tail coming out of a little hole in the skirt of the dress, or whether the tail should just stay under the dress.
